Hello, my name is Irene.

For 16+ years, I’ve built SaaS products and led the AI and data work behind them across various industries, including travel, cybersecurity and health tech. What ties my background together is a habit of bringing my engineering thinking into product strategy and efficient execution.

I started my career as a full-stack engineer, then moved into machine-learning research before it was a headline. For my M.Sc. at McGill, I built a biomarker for early breast-cancer detection.

Research gave me the rigor; startups gave me the speed of impact I was after. I moved into building software for fast-growing companies where small teams could ship quickly — a crisis-management SaaS, a personalized online flower shop, a breathing-coach mobile app I helped invent.

Larger, public companies brought a different set of problems: scaling what already works, optimizing revenue, and protecting what the business already has. On Bell’s security team I built an email phishing-risk application to protect the company’s email assets. For insurance companies I built an ROI calculator that made the return on their investment concrete. And for a medical SaaS company I built a scalable product-marketing workflow that could grow with the business.

The role is product; the instinct is to build the prototype quickly and test the outcome before scaling. I occasionally drop back into the code — it keeps it grounded to what’s actually hard to ship. What I love is the strategy and the outcome, and, more and more, building the teams that get there.

Today, the focus is AI product operations: the systems that let AI products be built efficiently and scale. This site is a collection of those experiments and technical explorations.
